Day -23 (6 June 2016)

Email just in from Peg (in NW Mozambique): “Have been up since about 4am trying to finish off translations of epilepsy materials for printing out for next week’s training. For Lichinga we need materials not only in Portuguese but also 3 local languages – Chinyanja, Yao and Macua. Then when it comes to translating the latter 3 languages, mother-tongue speakers of the languages have very different views of how it should be written, leading to heated discussions requiring conflict mediation.”     Peg

We hope we won’t have to go to these lengths to keep our tyres on for LAHOW. Not sure what this Mozambican cyclist used to fill his tyres, but options are: grass; sand; rice; cotton.  We hope that some of the BBBB bikes will find their way to Mozambique, to help individuals like this.
